3 Simple Tips Lose Weight

Today I want to share with you 3 simple tips to lose weight. Losing weight can be pleasurable and I will teach you how. This has worked for me and for many other people.

Tip 1: Smoothies!

Smoothies are filling and delicious. People who drink them in the morning tend to feel full during the day. Click here to watch some easy recipes.
I love adding cacao to my smoothies because its reach in magnesium and antioxidants.

Tip 2: Don’t Deprive Yourself

If you are hungry, eat. Let yourself have the food you are craving, at least twice a week. When you deprive yourself, the cravings become more intense. Find a balance.

Tip 3: Feed Your Heart

Find nourishment in a different way: through good relationships and through doing what makes you feel good.  I used to crave ice cream when I needed love. My craving for ice cream disappeared many times after someone was kind with me or gave me a hug. This is probably the most important tip.

Hope you find this tips valuable. I coach my clients to nourish their life and have a peaceful relationship with food. You can learn more about what I do here.

Probiotic Almond Milk

Homemade almond milk is fresh, delicious and easy to make. I use it every day for my smoothies and raw soups!

The recipe I am presenting here contains Probiotics!

Probiotics are good bacteria our body needs to ward off illness and keep our immune system strong. The best sources of Probiotics are fermented vegetables like sauerkraut, Kim Chee and cultured dairy like yogurt and kefir.

Antibiotics, birth control pills, cooked starches (bread, baked potato, cakes) and sugary drinks kill off our Probiotics, the good intestinal bacteria in our systems.  There are also foods that nourish Probiotics; these are chicory root, dandelion root, yacon root and yacon syrup.

Almond milk is very nutritious. Almonds contain:

–  10% vitamin A (helps to have healthy eyesight and improves the skin)

–  25% vitamin D  (helps build strong bones and teeth)

–  50% vitamin E   (Almonds contain alpha-tocopherol, the form of vitamin E that is best absorbed by the      body. Vitamin E helps defend against sun damage)

–  26% carbohydrates (12% of them are dietary fiber)

–  20% high-quality protein (25 almonds = 12% of our necessary daily protein)

–  30% calcium (helps maintain strong healthy bones)

–  Magnesium and Potassium.

To get started, you will need:

–       2 cups almonds (soak them overnight in water to help blend them easier and to release enzyme             inhibitors which makes them more digestible. Drain and rinse the almonds afterward)

–       4-5 cups water (you can also try coconut water or dandelion tea)

–       3-5 dates

–       2 tbsp alcohol-free vanilla extract

–       2-4 Probiotic capsules (try one with at least 10 billion cultures per capsule)

Equipment

–       Blender, cheesecloth or nut milk bag and a glass container

Directions:

1. Blend all the ingredients together except for the Probiotic capsules in a high speed blender.

2. Pour the mixture through the nut milk bag over a bowl and squeeze!

3. Add the Probiotic capsules to the milk. Just open them up to release the powder inside. Gently stir with a spoon. (At this point your almond milk is ready. If you have time, just add this extra steps:

4. Cover the bowl with a towel to keep it away from the light and put it in the oven (don’t turn on the oven). The oven will keep the milk at a stabilized temperature which will help with the culturing process. Leave it in there for 12 hours or overnight.

5. After 12 hours, take out the bowl. It should smell like yogurt! Keep it in the fridge. Almond milk will be good for 5 days.

Enjoy 🙂
